Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler was frustrated after his side drew 0-0 with Macclesfield, despite taking their unbeaten run to seven games.
In what was a lacklustre game at Moss Rose, Gillingham failed to break down a stubborn home defence with keeper Jose Veiga in inspired form to deny both Curtis Weston and Danny Jackman.
The point gained keeps Gillingham in seventh place in League Two, but Hessenthaler admitted after the game that he felt his side had done enough to take home all three:
Hessenthaler said: “I was disappointed not to get the three points which I thought we deserved. Over 90 minutes our keeper has not had to make a single save, but their `keeper denied Danny Kedwell in the first half and then made two great saves just after the break.
“Admittedly that is what they are paid for but he did his job very well.”
He added: “But a point is no bad result. We had to concentrate very hard and did a very good job defensively. They get the ball from back to front very effectively and are very dangerous from their set plays and long throws.”
From here, Gillingham entertain Bristol Rovers at Priestfield on Saturday afternoon and should they bag all three points December could turn out to be a profitable month for Hessenthaler’s side.
